The 2025 Chinese Athletics Association 10 km Elite Final (Meishan) will get underway this Sunday (December 28). As an important season finale in the national road-racing calendar, the race has brought together the country's strongest middle- and long-distance and road-running athletes, with the prospect of rewriting the national record the event's biggest storyline.

On the women's side, China's 10 km road and half marathon national record holderZhang Deshun is undoubtedly the focus. Her 10 km personal best is 31:57, and she is expected to push for an even higher level in this race, bringing the 2025 season to a satisfying close. Hot on her heels isLiu Min, with a PB of 32:09.

Also competing alongside them are several athletes capable of 33-minute performances, includingLi Meizhen, Zheng Xiaoqian, Huang Xuemei. In addition, with strong track 10,000m ability,Yang Yiting, Li Yingmei, Wu Bing, who has posted strong road results this year (34:28) will also add an element of unpredictability to the race.

On the men's side, current national record holderMao Jinhu is back at the starting line. He previously ran 28:49 in Valencia, rewriting China's men's 10 km road record, and he remains the top favorite to push for an even faster performance in this race.
