Today, the 2027 London Marathon announced its ballot results.
A total of 1,338,544 people from the UK and around the world applied, setting a new world record for entries into the 2027 London Marathon ballot. The previous record was also held by the London Marathon — 1.13 million (2026).
The 2027 London Marathon will adopt a "two-day" format, taking place on April 24 (Saturday) and April 25 (Sunday).
There will be 100,000 participants in total: 45,000 on Saturday and 55,000 on Sunday. All runners who entered the 2027 ballot were automatically entered into a single random draw pool for both Saturday and Sunday. Successful applicants will be notified by email to inform them which day they have been allocated to race.
The London Marathon ballot is completely random, like the national lottery. Runners who were not selected can still apply for charity entries and may have the opportunity to choose to race on Saturday.
In addition, the 2027 Mini London Marathon will be held on April 23 (Friday).
The 2027 London Marathon also announced the MyWay programme, offering runners worldwide the chance to take part "their way." Participants can choose their own course anywhere in the world and complete the 42.195 km (26.2-mile) challenge between 00:00 and 23:59:59 BST on April 24 or April 25.
The men's and women's elite fields, the Championship, and the Good for Age races will be scheduled on different dates; exact arrangements will be announced later.
Finally — did you get a place in the draw?
