Deng Guomin Wins Men's 60K; 'Hua-jie' Hou Xiaoci Dominates Women's at 2025 Shenzhen 100 Mountain Race


The 2025 season-closing trail running showdown, the Shenzhen 100 Mountain Race, kicked off in dramatic fashion. Shenzhen cooled over the past two days, and starting temperatures in the teens made for fairly friendly conditions. As the final major race of 2025, the event naturally attracted many top trail specialists from home and abroad.



Morning 6:30 AM,2025 KAILAS Shenzhen 100 trail race 60 km category starts, total distance 60.3 km, total elevation gain 4383 m, cutoff time is 19 hours.

 

In the first half, Zhao Kai and Wang Ruqin ran neck-and-neck, while He Fujun trailed minutes or so. When the course reached the Pengcheng First Peak checkpoint, Zhao Kai was still in first place, but the podium positions had changed. Local runner Liu Zhisen moved into second, while fellow local competitor Deng Guomin took third.

 

43.11 km Yantian checkpoint, Liu Zhisen punched in first, leading Zhao Kai by a slim margin seconds, Deng Guomin trailed minutes or so. At the final CP at the Meisha Peak trailhead, Deng Guomin surged ahead into first,50 km split time 5:14:58,并与身后的刘志森拉开了两分多钟的差距。At this point, Tian Peng had moved into third, and Zhao Kai dropped out of the podium contention.最后 10 km, can Guomin hold on to the end and take this championship?



Deng Guomin ultimately won in 6:32:34, using the victory to bring his 2025 season to a triumphant close. Congratulations to Guomin! Tian Peng surged late to take second in 6:36:58, and Zhao Kai finished third in 6:41:50.


 

In the women's race, in the first half, Vietnamese athlete"Hua Jie" Hou Xiaoci took the lead, and as the distance stretched she continued to extend her advantage; second-placed Zheng Bingling trailed by six minutes, third-placed Yang Yan trailed13 minutes. Japanese athlete Yuri Yoshizumi was fourth in the women's field, but stayed close to Yang Yan, the gap between the two remained around a dozen seconds.

 

Compared with the shifts in the men's race order, the women's top-three standings seem much more stable; however, Hua Jie has steadily stretched the gap to over 10 minutes. At the final checkpoint, Yuri Yoshizumi moved into third.



In the end, Huajie comfortably secured the women's title with a time of 7:41:49. Before the finish,Yuri Yoshizumi moved up again, with 7:48:08 totake second in the women's race;Zheng Bingling 7:49:04 to finish third.

 

Additionally, in the morning o'clock-starting the35km category (total distance 36.6 km, cumulative ascent2462m), Wu Erqing with 3:32:36 claimed the title, and Fan Kaili finished first in the women's category with 4:22:36.
