On December 14, 2025, the Fuzhou Marathon hosted a heavyweight domestic showdown. The domestic champions from the previous two editions, Li Zicheng and Guan Yousheng, were both at the start line; in addition, Cen Wanjiang, Wang Jiahao, Wang Hongwei and others joined the battle for the title. In the women's field, amateur standouts Huang Xuemei and Huang Fei competed for the win. After the start, Li Zicheng led the lead pack. Later Li Zicheng and Wang Hongwei increased the tempo, opening a gap on the rest, but Wang Hongwei then eased off and fell back into the second pack, while Li Zicheng pulled away decisively thanks to a 3:00/km pace over the 5–10 km segment. After 15 km, Li Zicheng had already opened a substantial lead of over a minute; the rest of the race was a solo effort from him, with Cen Wanjiang, Li Yongjie, Zhang Xiaohong, Shao Sishuang and Wang Hongwei forming the chase group. Shao Sishuang prevailed over Wang Hongwei in the battle for third, finishing in 2:15:28 to take the men's bronze. Huang Xuemei, who won last year's Fuzhou Half Marathon, has once again claimed the women's title at the 2025 Fuzhou Marathon, finishing in 2:32:31. Li Dan was the second to cross the finish line, finishing as the women's runner-up in 2 hours 36 minutes 23 seconds. Known as the younger of the "fastest twin sisters in China", Tang Xiaofang followed closely, taking the women's third place with a time of 2 hours 36 minutes 58 seconds, and earning a spot on the podium. In the half marathon category, Peng Bo won the men's title in 1:07:56, Wang Jiawei and last year's half marathon champion Nie Xudong finished second and third in 1:08:44 and 1:09:22, respectively. The women's half-marathon title was contested between No. 00 Feng Dan and No. 05 Liu Wenqing; the younger Liu Wenqing prevailed in the final moments, taking the women's half-marathon crown in 1:15:40. She was last year's Fuma full marathon women's runner-upFeng Dan this year picked up the women's half-marathon runner-up spot with a time of 1:16:07. Third place went to Zhou Xueqin, who ran 1:23:43.
