













2025 Shanghai Marathon kicked off today at Jinniu Square on the Bund in Shanghai.
Last year’s Berlin Marathon champion Milkesa Mengesha won, Wolde was runner-up, and Deresa Geleta finished third.
Former world record-holder Brigid Kosgei dominated to win in 2:16:36, simultaneously smashing the Shanghai course record and the Chinese national women's marathon record.
Feng Peiyou (2:08:36) was the top Chinese male; Yang Kegu was second and Li Dalin third.
Zhang Deshun (2:25:13) took top Chinese female honours, achieving a fourth consecutive domestic women's title at the Shanghai Marathon. Wu Bing was second and Yao Miao third.
RunYeah editor Tiedan ran 2:14:52, setting a new PB.
