The 2026 Shanghai Marathon pre-registration deadline is May 29 at 12:00 — only 4 hours remain.

In 2025 Shanghai Marathon registrations reached an unprecedented 350,000, about 100,000 more than in 2024. This year is the Shanghai Marathon’s 30th anniversary, and registrations may set a new record.

But don’t worry — this year the event field has been increased from last year’s 23,000 to 30,000, giving more runners the chance to take on this dream course.

In March this year the Shanghai Marathon successfully entered the second phase of the World Marathon Majors candidate-event qualification assessment. If it meets the standard again this year, it will have fulfilled the core requirement of passing the assessment twice in succession, and next year the Shanghai Marathon will officially join the World Marathon Majors.

Last week Donghao Lansheng formed a strong partnership with Huipao — in this crucial 2026, what other surprises might the Shanghai Marathon have in store?

One more reminder: there are 4 hours left before registration closes. Runners who want to experience the Shanghai Marathon — don’t miss this final opportunity.

Additionally, on the afternoon of June 30 the Shanghai Marathon will announce the lottery results; in July registrations will open for the Shanghai Marathon Health Run (this year held independently for the first time on December 5).
