China Marathon Calendar — June 2026

When June arrives and summer heat builds, domestic marathon events aren't as dense as the spring peak, but there are still many races worth watching. Full marathon events include the Ulanqab Marathon, Guiyang Marathon, Jiayuguan Great Wall Marathon, and Linze Marathon. The Ulanqab Marathon is notable for its grassland course and early‑summer climate; the Guiyang Marathon is famous for the "Heroic Eighteen Slopes"; the Jiayuguan Great Wall Marathon layers the Great Wall, the Gobi, and northwest terrain together; the Linze Marathon highlights the Hexi Corridor's regional landscape. For many runners, the appeal of these races is that you run into a city and environment you rarely encounter, entering an experience wrapped in history and geographic character. Besides full marathons, half marathon highlights include the Kunming Half Marathon, Xining Half Marathon, Ningxia Zhongwei Desert Starry Sky Half Marathon, and Zhenning Huangguoshu Half Marathon. The Kunming and Xining Half Marathons both have pronounced high‑altitude characteristics; the Zhongwei Desert Starry Sky Half Marathon combines desert and starry‑sky elements to create a unique atmosphere; the Zhenning Huangguoshu Half Marathon leans more toward a scenic event. Additionally, the Nenjiang Half Marathon and Heihe Marathon add further regional flavor to the June calendar. Although June's race schedule isn't particularly crowded, from the Northeast to the Southwest, from high plateaus to deserts, styles vary markedly between events — and because of that each race has its own character. Will you pick one to chase a fast time, or run several to experience different cities and course scenery with your own feet?
