2026 Chengdu Marathon registration opens today (June 10, 2026), and the race is scheduled to be held on October 25, 2026 (Sunday). The 2026 Chengdu Marathon marks a new beginning after Zhong'ao Road Run began operations: Zeekr has become the new title sponsor, and the lineup of sports brand sponsors has changed as well — Li-Ning now appears on Chengdu Marathon branding and has secured important event resources in the southwest region. This year's event scale is 35,000 participants in total, including 25,000 for the marathon and 10,000 for the half marathon. All races start at: Jinsha Site Museum; Marathon finish: Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center; Half marathon finish: Wangjiang Campus, Sichuan University. Start times: Elite athletes and participants in Wave A, B, and C will start at 7:30; Participants in Wave D and E will start at 7:50; Half marathon participants in Waves F and G will start at 8:10. In addition to the basic information above, the organizers have made several new adjustments for this year's Chengdu Marathon. 1) A new registration mechanism of "register first, then lottery, and pay only if selected" has been introduced. If an entrant cannot participate for any reason, they may apply for a withdrawal within the specified time (important!), and the registration fee can be fully refunded — a very user-friendly policy. 2) A special "no bag-drop" option. A green "no bag-drop" participation option is available during registration for runners to choose voluntarily. Participants who select this option will receive a dedicated race bib before the race and a special insulated item after the race, symbolizing their contribution to environmental protection. 3) Route optimization. The optimized route adds four new landmarks along the course: Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Sichuan Museum, Qingyang Palace, and Qintai Road, aiming to create a richer and more unique Chengdu Marathon experience for participants. 4) Multiple temporary crossing points to minimize impact on citizens' travel. The event will make use of pedestrian overpasses, subway stations, and street-crossing channels to set up "dynamic safety islands" and other forms of temporary crossing points along the course, providing tailored consideration for normal city traffic. 5) Enhanced discounts for visiting runners, cultural experiences, and support for local industries. For participants, the organizers have partnered with scenic spots and commercial districts to offer free tickets, discount vouchers, and consumption coupons to facilitate sightseeing and dining in Chengdu before and after the race.
