According to the organizer's announcement, the 2026 KAILAS Ring Mount Siguniang Super Trail, one of China's benchmark high-altitude trail running events, will be held from November 4 to 7, 2026, and registration opens on April 15, 2026 at 10:00. At the same time, applications for the Legendary Grand Slam and the Super Grand Slam open on April 10, 2026. For registration, the race will use multi-channel allocation: Super Grand Slam athletes will have direct-entry registration rights, Legendary Grand Slam athletes will receive free entry; remaining category slots will be allocated on April 15, 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis; finishers of certain Shenxing 100 high-altitude events may be able to obtain registration spots via a post-race lottery. The core changes for this edition are primarily reflected in course and category upgrades. The 100 km category will optimize the Haizigou section, attempting to create a more representative classic high-altitude 100 km course—athletes will face high-altitude night sections, day–night temperature swings exceeding 30°C, and the combined tests of wind, snow and plateau conditions. The 70 km category will continue to strengthen its technical attributes and optimize route data, while retaining signature technical sections such as icy slopes and scree slopes, further consolidating its reputation as a "high-altitude technical course." The 45 km category will increase participant slots and reasonably adjust checkpoint cutoff times to give more runners the chance to experience high-altitude trail running; additionally, this category will add basic microspikes as mandatory equipment, and KAILAS FUGA will provide additional prize money for the 45 km category. In addition to course and category changes, checkpoint layout has been specifically optimized. This year the race will remove the Changpinggou Kushu Beach checkpoint and add the Xiahaizi checkpoint as a replacement, and route design will aim to resolve past issues where some runners took the wrong course due to overlapping categories. At the same time, this edition continues to emphasize "Not just an event; co-building Mount Siguniang mountain culture." This means the organizers no longer simply define the race as a local high-altitude trail event, but hope to use the event platform to connect outdoor sports, ecological protection and local culture, creating a longer-term brand expression with stronger regional characteristics.
