At the pre-race starting ceremony,Li Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Pudong New Area Party Committee,Xu Bin, Party Secretary and Director of the Municipal Sports Bureau; Li Dong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd.; Xie Wei, Deputy Party Secretary, President and Vice Chairman of SPD Bank; Xu Qi, Deputy Director of the Municipal Sports Bureau; Huang Wei, Standing Committee member of the Pudong New Area Party Committee and Head of the Publicity Department; Xu Xin, Deputy District Mayor of Pudong New Area; Zhou Jin, Party Committee member and Vice President of Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd.; and Jiale Xiao, Managing Director of adidas Greater China and other leaders and guests jointly fired the starting gun for the 2026 SPD Bank Shanghai Half Marathon, igniting the crowd's enthusiasm.
Ultimately, from Kenya,Solomon Kirwa Yegoclocking1:00:57 to take the men's title,Bernard Kibet Murkomen,Ma Rui with1:02:15and1:02:49 finishing second and third, respectively.From Ethiopia,Asmarech Anley took the women's title with a time of 1:07:01. The women's runner-up and third place went toKatherine Relin Amanangole and Xu Shuangshuang, their times were 1:07:02 and 1:09:34.As for Chineseathletes, the Chinese men's title waswon by Ma Ruiwitha time of 1:02:49 claimed the title,Sangjidongzhiand Tang Haoran placed second and third; their times were1:03:19and1:03:20.The Chinese women's title was claimed by Xu Shuangshuang with a time of 1:09:34 claiming the title,Yang Yiting and Li Zhixuan finished with times of 1:10:27 and 1:12:23, respectively.After the wait, the 2026 SPD Bank Shanghai Half Marathon reached its cutoff moment. According to statistics, the finish rate for this event reached99.24%.
The Shanghai half marathon has always made "runner safety" its core, building a full-process protection system covering pre-race, in-race and post-race. Along the course it has set up23 medical stations,23 ambulances on standby,24 bike emergency teamspatrolling the entire course，315 emergency medical volunteersand120 first-aid runners deployed at key points, forming a "fixed + mobile" dual-layer protective network and, based on course characteristics and high-risk areas for sudden emergencies, deployed9 critical-care emergency treatment teams, each selected and dispatched by hospitals such as Renji, Ruijin, Ninth People's and Zhongshan.Zhongshan Hospital, Ruijin Hospital, Renji Hospital, Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai East Hospital (main campus and southern campus), Punan Hospital7 institutions opened green channels to ensure seamless coordination of treatment, building a solid safety line for 15,000 runners. 
Affectionately nicknamed "Little Motors" by runners,2,256 volunteers, fromFudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai University of Sport, and ShanghaiTech University — eight universities in total, they wove a service network with professionalism and enthusiasm. At the check-in area they carried out rigorous checks, at the start they guided runners in an orderly manner, and the results-recording station performed its duties with meticulous care. These young volunteers dispelled fatigue with smiles and words of encouragement, adding a youthful warmth to the event.
The race's aid system is scientific and meticulous: from 5 km there are water and beverage stations every 5 km; from 7.5 km there are drinking-water stations every 5 km; energy stations are available at 10 km (都乐香蕉), 12.5 km (SiS energy gels), 17.5 km and 20 km (都乐香蕉, 每日黑巧巧克力), helping runners sustain energy and attack the later stages.After crossing the finish line, runners immediately enjoy thoughtful services: adidas finishers' cloaks provide warmth and style, 安视优 finishers' packs combine fashion and practicality, 怡宝 and 魔力 provide water and beverage refills, 都乐香蕉 and corn promptly replenish energy, and express recovery and stretching areas offer professional relaxation services, putting a warm punctuation mark on every step of effort.In 2025, two Pudong-made humanoid robots made their debut on the Shanghai half marathon course and interacted with runners during warm-ups. In 2026, the “Pudong Robot Troupe” made a collective appearance in a fresher, more spectacular form, giving Chinese and international runners a brand-new experience of Pudong’s development.Today's finish line is tomorrow's new starting point
