Recently, the 2026 Seoul Marathon released its roster of invited athletes.

The biggest name is Sisay Lemma, who ran 2:01:48 at the 2023 Valencia Marathon. He also won the 2024 Boston Marathon and was once ranked second in the world.

The defending champion Haftu Teklu Asefa (2:04:42) will also compete.

On the men's side, three athletes have PBs under 2:05, and eight men have PBs under 2:07.

On the women's side, the defending champion Bekelech Gudeta (2:20:59) will compete.

Chinese athletes

Women: Wu Bing (2:26:01 — 2025 Asian Championships champion) will compete.

Men: He Jie (2:06:57 — 2024 Wuxi) will compete. We look forward to He Jie's performance.

Guo Zhongrui (2:10:25 — 2024 Hengshui) and Su Fei (2:12:12 — 2024 Shanghai) will also be in the field.

The men's lead group is targeting 2:03:30, with the second group targeting 2:05:30.

Women's lead group target: 2:20:30, second group: 2:24:30.
