The 2026 Shanghai Women's Half Marathon will start at 7:00 AM on March 8, 2026. The organizing committee recently released the course map. This year’s course continues the classic route from previous years and remains unchanged from last year: it starts in the Hongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, runs along Hongqiao Road, the Changning Outer Ring Ecological Greenway, the Suzhou River Changning-section promenade, and finishes at Zhongshan Park. Past participants will be familiar with it. Notably, with the Shanghai Marathon now selected as a candidate event for the World Marathon Majors, the race’s prestige has risen and the event has expanded further — the field has grown to 8,000 starters and registrations reached 24,556, both all-time highs. The top 200 finishers will also earn direct entry to the 2026 Shanghai Marathon! With less than a month until race day, how are your preparations going?
