Today, the Chinese Athletics Association published the results of the solicitation for the 2026 National Marathon Championships,The 2026 Beijing Marathon is the sole full marathon national championship， The 2026 Meishan Renshou Half Marathon is the sole half marathon national championship.

When the notice soliciting hosts for the 2026 National Marathon Championships was issued earlier, it was made clear that there will be only one national championship for each of the half marathon and full marathon in 2026. At the same time, the full marathon national championship is planned to take place between July and December; given the schedules of the various events, Beijing Marathon's ultimate selection during that period is hardly surprising.

As for the half marathon, the Renshou Half Marathon, which has produced consistently strong results in recent years, has rightfully become the highest-level half marathon event in the country, so its continued selection this time is only natural.

In recent years the number of national championship events has been decreasing year by year,2024 the full marathon had 3  events, and the half marathon had 6  events；2025 the full marathon and the half marathon each had 3  events. This year, after both the full and half marathon championships were reduced to 1 event, athletes will concentrate their participation, and the competition between them will be fiercer than in previous years. Perhaps this will also spark new great performances this year — let's look forward to it!
