2026 Xiamen Marathon saw more than 2,300 runners go sub-3 hours (net time under 3 hours), the second-highest total in the race’s history. As the year’s first global Platinum-label event, the mass-field runners showed a very high level of competition, and the shoes on their feet are also worth attention.
According to the statistics (data source: final 500 meters before the finish, using the sub-3 pacer as the reference point; data for reference only), Xtep topped the list with an absolute share exceeding 60%, reclaiming the top spot after ranking first on the top-100 shoe list.
Next were BMAI and Li-Ning, though the gap between them is negligible. adidas placed fourth, with Zhongqiao, ANTA and Saucony in fifth, sixth and seventh respectively, and Nike in eighth. Under Armour, which ranked third on the top-100 shoe list, fell to ninth.
Does this sub-3 shoe ranking look different from what you expected?
