Important notice
Traffic control in the start area will begin at 5:30; please plan your route in advance.

Due to the characteristics of road races, participants must wear athletic apparel. Therefore, the race organizing committee requiresthat all participants wear clothing, shoes, and socks appropriate for road racing. If a participant's attire does not meet the event's regulations, check-in officials and staff have the authority to require adjustments.
Please wear sports clothing and running shoes that have been broken in; new gear can cause discomfort and affect performance.

Three-step entry process
Step 1: Security check and identity verification
Multiple security screening lanes are set up at the entrance.
Staff will verify participants' eligibility
Please have your ID ready and cooperate with the security screening
Runners who have completed facial-data enrollment can use quick face-scan entry
This will significantly reduce waiting times
If you haven't enrolled, please be sure to bring your original ID
On-site staff will assist with the verification
Step 2: Bag Drop
Based on past years' experience, Benben recommends you plan your bag-drop timing wisely
Avoid crowds forming before the bag-drop closes
The bag-drop will close promptly at 6:45
Please be sure to complete bag drop before this
Step 3: Warm-up Preparation
After completing bag drop, everyone needs to enter the designated areas for pre-race warm-up
Benben has arranged professional coaches to lead everyone through the warm-up
A proper warm-up not only helps prevent exercise-related injuries
but also gets your body into peak racing condition
Important: Moving up into a higher start corral for this event is not allowed!

In the morning 6:45, the racing wheelchair marathon will start first
Nineteen elite wheelchair athletes will ignite the Shanghai Marathon course with speed and passion!
7:00, it's everyone's turn to take the stage
This year's race will be divided into three waves
First gun (7:00): invited athletes, pre-qualified athletes, runners in A and B corrals
Second wave (7:10):Ccorral runners
Third wave (7:20):Runners from Corrals D and E
Benben hopes that starting in waves like this will give every runner a more comfortable race start experience
Imagine, when the starting gun fires
you have enough space to take your stride, and your rhythm won't be affected by crowding — isn't that great?
Benben has a few small reminders:
1Before the start, please discard disposable raincoats, disposable warm clothing, water bottles and other trash to the sides of the course; do not throw them onto the course,to prevent runners from stepping on them and causing accidents.
2When starting, remember to keep a safe distance, do not push, so that everyone can start safely and smoothly.

2025Shanghai Marathon will continue to offer"Shanghai Marathon e-Map", providing runners with smoother, more convenient guidance on the course—During the race, key locations such as aid stations and medical stations can be located in real time, with the information clear at a glance.

01 Timely hydration — stay in top form
Starting from 5 km, the course will have aid stations every 5 km offering sports drinks and water. These stations help runners replenish fluids and electrolytes in a timely manner and maintain bodily functions. Benben suggests planning your hydration strategy in advance and not waiting until you're thirsty to drink, to ensure your best competitive condition.
02Cool Water — Refresh and Cool Down
From 7.5 kilometers onward, every 5 kilometers there will be water stations. As temperatures rise, Benben suggests runners use soaked sponges at the water stations when passing by to help lower body temperature and improve running comfort.
Based on the energy demands of different race segments, Benben has prepared targeted fueling plans for runners.
Banana aid stations:12.5KM, 15KM, 32.5KM, 37.5KM
Cupcake aid stations:17.5KM,35KM
Daily dark chocolate aid station:27.5KM,40KM
SiS energy gel aid station:25KM
Each aid station is staffed with experienced volunteers
They ensure runners can quickly and smoothly access the supplies they need
Benben recommends that runners choose their nutrition based on their individual needs

The race finish is located at Xujiahui Sports Park Celebration Plaza. After crossing the line, runners will pass the torch platform and enter the venue through Channel 4 to collect the appropriate finisher items. After picking up your finisher medal and finisher pack, leave through Shanghai Stadium Channel 1 and then proceed west along the internal road. After passing the sponsor exhibition area, follow the tent number signs
to the corresponding bag-drop tent to collect your stored bag.

Benben invited the film "Vegetable and Pork Wontons" to set up a themed booth, conveying the unique charm of Shanghainese in a light and entertaining way

Come to the finish area to take part in the interactions — in song and laughter, put a Shanghainese-flavored finale on your2025Shanghai Marathon journey!
