According to official data from the Valencia Marathon,this year a total of 30,569 finishers (men 23,245, women 7,301, non-binary 23) finished,of whom 5,668 (men 5,343, women 325) finished within 3 hours gun time, giving a sub-3 rate of 18.5% , again breaking the previous record of 5,281 set by the event. By comparison, the race with the second-most sub-3 finishers worldwide was this year's Beijing Marathon, with 32,000 entrants, of whom more than 4,700 runners went sub-3, a sub-3 rate of about 14.6%, leaving a sizable gap behind leader Valencia. A flat course, a speed-focused competitive atmosphere, and favorable weather have made the Valencia Marathon an increasingly prominent fast course; it has become the choice for elites chasing records and also a great course for runners aiming to go sub-3.
