

At today's 2026 Lisbon Half Marathon, Ugandan star Jacob Kiplimo demonstrated his strength by 57 minutes 20 seconds to once again break the half marathon world record, at an average pace 2 minutes 43 seconds.
At the start of the race,Jacob Kiplimo immediately took the lead,forming the lead group with Kipcolier and Kiprotich. At 10 km, Kiplimo passed in 27 minutes exactly, which was 12 seconds faster than the world record. In the ensuing surge,Kiprotich fell off the pace.After 15 km, Kiplimo surged again, pulling away fromKipcolier and left him far behind. In the end,Kiplimo lowered the men's half marathon world record by 10 seconds.

In 2021 Jacob Kiplimo broke the half marathon world record here; Lisbon truly is Jacob Kiplimo's lucky ground. At last year's Barcelona Half Marathon, because he was running too close to the lead vehicle his 56:42 was not ratified. This time he finally got his wish — Jacob Kiplimo has become the undisputed king of the half marathon!
