It is reported that the 2025 New York City Marathon set a new world record with 59,226 finishers, surpassing the 56,640 finishers at the London Marathon this April, becoming the marathon with the largest number of finishers in history.

Compared with last year's 55,643 finishers, this year's New York field reached another record high. Of the finishers, 31,927 were male, 27,156 were female, and 143 were non-binary.

Average finish times were: men 4 hours 18 minutes 55 seconds, women 4 hours 48 minutes 11 seconds, non-binary competitors 4 hours 43 minutes 59 seconds, with an overall average finish time of 4 hours 32 minutes 25 seconds.

From Staten Island to Central Park, from the cheers at the start to the tears at the finish, this "world's largest marathon" once again proved New York's magic. Were you also one of this year's witnesses to NYC Marathon history? What was your race story?
