There are three races on August 9, four clustered on the 16th, and an astonishing six on the 23rd — such density is quite rare during the summer season.
These 16 events are spread across Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hubei, Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Tibet, Guizhou, Liaoning, Hebei, Gansu, Ningxia, and other regions — without exception, they are all summer retreats offering cooler conditions.
August 23rd can be called the “Super Marathon Day” of August, with six races starting on the same day. The most eye-catching among them is the Lhasa Half Marathon.
The Lhasa Half Marathon fields 4,000 runners, with the course averaging 3,650 meters in elevation. It is one of the highest-altitude A-class certified races in the country and is widely regarded in the running community as a “must-run” high-altitude marathon. Did you secure a spot?
All through August, from Chuxiong in Yunnan to the forest oxygen bar of Arxan, from the foot of the Tianshan to the Lhasa plateau, from the vast grasslands of Hulunbuir to the desert starry skies of Shapotou, each race is a rare cool option in the height of summer.
Which one are you most looking forward to?
