Registration for the 2026 Fuzhou Marathon officially opened at 20:00 on Sept 10 and closes at 17:00 on Sept 19, a 10-day window. The race will have a gun start at 7:30 on Dec 27. Last year Fuzhou’s PB rate among finishers reached 34.11% — pretty tempting!
This year’s total field size is the same as last year: 35,000 runners, with 20,000 full marathon and 15,000 half marathon entries.
Registration requirements:
Full marathon: must be at least 20 years old on race day, and have 1 full marathon result or 2 half marathon results within the past 24 months;
Half marathon: must be at least 18 years old on race day, and have 2 results of 10 km or longer within the past 24 months.
This year’s entry fees have increased compared with the past two years: full marathon up 20 yuan, half marathon up 30 yuan:
Full marathon: 200 yuan/person; foreign runners 400 yuan/person;
Half marathon: 180 yuan/person; foreign runners 360 yuan/person.
Public direct-entry criteria (full marathon only):
1. "Rongyao Runners"
Runners who completed the full marathon in nine consecutive editions of the Fuzhou Marathon from 2015–2025 and who are registering for the full marathon again this year.
2. Time-based direct entry (results from A1-level races certified by the athletics association between 2024/1/1 and 2026/9/9 are valid)
Men: 2:45:00 or faster
Women: 3:00:00 or faster
In the past two years the direct-entry thresholds were: men 3:00:00, women 3:20:00. This year the standards have been tightened—the men’s cut improved by 15 minutes and the women’s by 20 minutes. This direct-entry standard is currently second only to Nanjing among provincial-capital marathons in the second half of the year, and is the same as Hangzhou.
The final list of direct qualifiers will be published at 10:00 on Sept 23. Runners who receive direct-entry qualification must remember to complete payment within 5 days (by 17:00 on Sept 27).
The final lottery-selected entrant lists for all events will be finalized at 10:00 on Sept 30.
In 2026 the Fuzhou Marathon will celebrate its 10th anniversary — good luck with the lottery!
