The Kotcha app will officially launch on October 23 and is currently available for pre-registration.

Kotcha's co-founding team is from France. The CEO is Ben Dupont, the Chief Marketing Officer is Dimitri Dor, and the Chief Technology Officer is Michel-André Chirita.

Why did they team up with Eliud Kipchoge and NN Running Team to launch the Kotcha sports app?

It goes back to 2019, when CEO Ben completed his first marathon, and Eliud Kipchoge became the first person to run a full marathon in under 2 hours. Seeing that Kipchoge's success was down to his team, Ben wondered whether that team strength could be brought to ordinary runners.

At the time he found it hard to realize. Later, with technological progress, he felt the time had come. In February of this year, the three of them flew to Kenya to meet with Eliud Kipchoge and the NN Running Team.

Both parties hit it off, agreeing that sharing Eliud Kipchoge and the NNrunningteam's running knowledge with runners around the world would be a wonderful thing, and so Kotcha was born.

What does Kotcha mean? Officially they say Kotcha is the trading name of the French company PACEUP SAS. However, in Swahili there is a word Kocha which means coach/instructor.

Kotcha focuses on the running knowledge of Eliud Kipchoge and NNrunningteam. The most appealing element is Eliud Kipchoge's training secrets, so it's not surprising they use that as a selling point in official promotion.

So here's the question. How many of his secrets will Eliud Kipchoge share on this app? Will it require payment? Will Kotcha become a competitor to running apps like NRC and Strava?

Since it hasn't officially launched yet, what features does Kotcha offer? You can get a sense from the app screenshots. Kotcha includes training plans for 10K, half marathon and full marathon, allows users to ask questions, and can connect with Garmin, Apple Watch and Coros sports watches.
