Yang Chunlong and Wu Bing take men's and women's titles at Shanghai Huangpu Half Marathon

This month, races have been nonstop along the Shanghai waterfront. Following the Shanghai Women's Half Marathon, Shanghai Half Marathon, and Suhe Half Marathon, the Huangpu Half Marathon also fired its starting gun today.

As another marathon event starting from Jinniu Square alongside the Shanghai Marathon, it delivers an equally strong sense of ceremony for participants. The course is thoughtfully designed, linking together Huangpu District's historic and modern landmarks.

At 7:15 a.m.,8,000 runners set off from the Bund toward World Expo Huangpu Sports Park.

After the start, Yang Chunlong and Sheng Wang ran side by side, with Wu Bing running first among the women.

At the 5 km timing point, Yang Chunlong and Sheng Wang passed together in 15:34, an average pace close to 3:07 per km; Wu Bing took 17:19, and her lead over second-place Zhong Jiameng had already stretched to 36 seconds.

After 10 km, the battle for the men's lead intensified. Yang Chunlong first gradually accelerated, opening a gap on Sheng Wang. But Sheng Wang held under the pressure and closed back in; at 15 km he passed first in 47:28, with Yang Chunlong one second behind in second.

At the 20 km mark, Yang Chunlong pushed again, accelerating away from Sheng Wang and ultimately taking the win in 1:06:47.Sheng Wang finished second, six seconds behind; following yesterday's Suhe Half Marathon he has now produced back-to-back half-marathon times of 1:06:00.

Wu Bing showed absolute dominance, led the race from start to finish, and decisively won the women's title in 1:13:48!

Congratulations to both champions on their excellent performances!
