On March 22, three major domestic marathons were held simultaneously: the Wuxi Marathon, the Wuhan Marathon and the Chengdu World Heritage Marathon.
Paoye photographed and recorded the shoe-brand distribution among the top 100 runners shortly before the finish line.
See what differences there are?
At the Wuxi Marathon, title sponsor Li-Ning topped the list with a commanding 45 pairs; BMAI was second with 10 pairs, and Nike third with 8 pairs. Compared with the other two races, Wuxi's top-100 shoe list included more brands — 15 in total.
At the Wuhan Marathon, title sponsor Xtep led with 44 pairs, followed by BMAI with 18 pairs and adidas with 9 pairs — 9 brands in total.
At the Chengdu World Heritage Marathon, Xtep was first with 34 pairs, while title sponsor ASICS was second with 29 pairs — the only one of the three events where the title sponsor did not rank first. adidas was third with 9 pairs, for a total of 10 brands.
From the top-100 shoe lists you can see which brands are pushing hard — for example, Under Armour, which ranked fifth at the Wuxi Marathon, has assembled an elite team.
These three major marathons, spread across the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River — does the top-100 shoe-brand distribution match what you expected?
