
Recently, global fitness equipment giant Technogym(泰诺健) and World Athletics jointly announced that they will 2026 will officially launch the world's first treadmill world championship RUN X™ Can you imagine?
According to the press release, RUN X™ is designed to blend the appeal of traditional athletics with internet and digital technology。RUN X™ has zero entry barriers; anyone at a partner fitness center on a networked Technogym treadmill completes 5 kilometers will automatically be entered into the global live leaderboard, rankings will also be grouped by age and gender.
After winners in each category are chosen through regional qualifiers,ultimately, in both the men's and women's categories, 10 top runners will be invited to participate in2026 year-end in-person final to compete for the title of 'World Treadmill Champion' and $100,000 prize pool. At the same time, World Athletics will also provide wildcard entries to its series events (such as the World Road Running Championships).

RUN X™ 'sentry process is very convenient:
·Start timing: on a connected Technogym treadmill, complete 5 kilometers
·Automatic ranking: results are certified through Technogym digital ecosystem certification and automatically enter the global real-time leaderboard
·Multiple attempts: during the event you can try multiple times to continually improve your personal best (PB)
·Path to qualification: Ranked by age group and gender→ Regional qualifiers → Global final

Second quarter:Runners begin registration.
Fourth quarter:Official races and the World Final take place.
