Before the race, we've compiled a race guide that organizes the important informationto "highlight the essentials" and help you familiarize yourself in advance with the specifics of the three events.

·Before the race

After the gun goes off, enjoy this IRONMAN journey to the fullest.

In IRONMAN 70.3 the swimming leg, course is overallcounterclockwise route, with only three turns in total,第一次右转,之后两次左转。这样的路线对左侧换气选手较为友好,右侧换气的选手记得要不时地使用the first is a right turn, followed by two left turns. This layout favors swimmers who breathe to the left; those who breathe to the right should remember to usethe 'crocodile eye' to check their direction from time to time.

Although there aren't many turns, and no sharp, difficult angles, open-water turns can still cause some trouble for mass participants; many "swimming off course" incidents happen just before or after turns, and the buoys placed by the organizers are your GPS navigation — remember to recalibrate your "heading" from time to time; otherwise "earning extra mileage" in the swim will be an exhausting, unrewarding outcome.

If you choose breaststroke, it's advisable to enter the water in the last wave, this helps avoid being caught by waves and freestyle swimmers"front, back, left and right" all-around "predicament".

Here are two ways to speed up your swim"solutions": one is equipment-based, the other technique-based.

According to current information, expected water temperature 21 °C; wetsuits may be used. Although they are not mandatory equipment, athletes who have them may choose to wear them during the race; they not only keep you warm, but also effectively increase buoyancy to boost performance. For beginners they are definitely a speed aid.

Another"speed trick" doesn't require gear — it's "swim drafting." Drafting behind another rider is banned in cycling events, but "swim drafting" in triathlon is a legal way to gain an edge.

Using the low-pressure zone created by the lead runner's wake and the forward vortex can theoretically yield 20%  energy savings, helping athletes perform better. So finding a 'human wave breaker' with a similar pace to follow is also a good option.

Of course, when drafting you need to control the distance to the runner ahead,10-20 cm is the ideal distance. Too close you risk 'rear-ending' and causing mutual interference; too far and the drafting effect is weak.

The cycling course for this event is set onthe Beiyan Road on the south side of "Guangming Tianyuan". The road is wide and flat, shaded by trees on both sides. It was once the designated course for the Tour of Chongming Island UCI Women's Road World Cup, which helps competitors produce strong results in the cycling discipline.

The bike course consists of two laps, each lap is 45 kilometers, aside from a few 90 degree turns and 180 degree hairpins, in theory on other sections, athletes can adopt an aero position on aerobars. Triathlon bikes will have a significant advantage; even road bikes are recommended to be fitted with an aerobar.

On a fast course like this, the choice of fueling strategy is critical. There is an aid station at each end of the bike course. With temperature and humidity conditions being suitable, riding 90 kilometers generally requires 2-3 liters of water and sports drinks.

If you want to race the clock, you can carry all your nutrition at once and run through without stopping— front reservoir no more than L, rear bottles no more than  and each no more than1L; this is the rule limit — don't exceed it. If you're not so concerned about your result, you can refuel and rest properly at aid stations before heading off.

After completing the swim and bike, you’ll enter the run leg. As temperatures rise, the ultimate test for triathletes officially begins.

Runners'lakeside coursemay be scenic, yet it can also be a potentialgentle trap”.laps, totaling 21.1 kilometer loop is located in Guangming Tianyuan, linking lakes, meadows and flower fields along the way — scenery so beautiful you'll want to post it to social media.

But this pastoral idyll can also become "pace disruptor" The course through the lake-islet area features many small bridges; the rolling undulations and frequent turns form a double challenge that can easily disrupt a runner's pace!

So at the start, remember to stick to a pace that suits you; don't get carried away by the excitementOnce you've settled into a steady rhythm, in the second lap after 10 km gradually switch into"nitro boost" mode.

Besides controlling your speed, sun protection and cooling are essential, direct midday sunlight and reflections off the water deliver a double whammy. So don't be stingy with sunscreen before you head out — it's okay to apply it thickly, even enough to form a "Peking Opera mask" (especially on the back of the neck).Tuck cooling sponges under your collarbones, stash ice in your cap, and when you reach aid stations pour water over your head — these are all tricks to help you cool down.

One more important thing: don't wait until you're parched to drink. Hydrating at regular intervals helps you stay in better running shape. On the course, there are aid stations, of which are at the turnaround points, are mid-course. Be sure to note the aid station locations in advance; if you miss this stop, the next one is another km!

There are also techniques for hydration. Squeeze the paper cup flat to form a thin stream that pours directly into your throat, which effectively controls the amount of water and prevents choking. Use the 'small sips, frequent' tactic, taking 100 to 200 milliliters each time; any remaining water can be poured over your head to cool down.

When the wind of Chongming Island sweeps acrossthesweat-soakedjersey,and as the final kilometercountdowndrawsever nearer, whenthe running feet cross the finishline——cheer loudly;with indomitable will, forge the Ironman journey,IRONMAN 70.3 you did it!
