On the afternoon of August 24, the first start of the 2026 UTMB—the PTL category—officially fired the gun at Place Triangle de l'Amitié in Chamonix, France. The course is 300 km long with over 25,000 m of elevation gain.

Last year's defending champions, AlpsXperience (Swiss brothers Candide Gabioud and Jules-Henri Gabioud), are undoubtedly the favorites for this PTL; they have won four times (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025).

Their 2025 time was an astonishing 78 hours and 50 seconds. Can they go under 78 hours this year and complete a three-peat?
